We did not exclude the famous Yamaha CP-70 from sampling. We sampled this legendary electric grand piano with such detail that you will never need to sample it again. 94.604 samples, to be exact. All standard sustain samples were recorded with the pedal up and down. In addition, we also have two types of staccatoishimo (with / without RR) for quick play styles.

We also opened the CP-70 and recorded what’s inside, including tweaking the strings and carefully muting the sound for various types of sounds. Vintage CP-70 Piano also contains a large selection of presets, which shows many variations of the instrument. The library contains 8 different types of vintage microphones and 2 different types of reverbs.

Microphones include Neumann 87, Coles, Neve SE Ribbon, AKG 414, Neumann KM 184, and a mixed microphone position, which was created by combining all 24 microphones used in the sessions. We also recorded all the samples with two world-class reverbs (Bricasti and TC-Electronics 6000), so you have the best microphones and reverbs.

The CP-70 was recorded using a 100% analogue NEVE preamplifier signal stream and further amplified by a chain of iron equipment, including the Manley Vari Mu compressor, the original Urei 1176 (Pre-Universal Audio), the original DBX 160, Neve 33609 compressor.
