Music creation before purchasing a MacBook, i knew all i was going to use it for was a portable DAW for Logic Pro x, i was largly debting between the pro and the air, after 1 week i am glad to report that the macbook air i purchased is fully capable of running Logic Pro x, with many tracks, and the battery life is great. Go to Spotlight in the top right of screen, type in channel strip settings. Open up that folder. Double click on the 'TRACK' folder. Drag the preset 'PRESET PACK' into the 'TRACK' folder. Piano roll is a FL Studio's instrument step sequencer. It is considered to be among the most intuitive and flexible tools for quickly creating patterns and manipulating all aspects of each note. A single left click inserts a note, while a right click deletes it. It's possible to mute notes, splice them, stretch them, add shuffle, etc quickly.

Logic Pro Logic Pro is Apple’s solution for music producers and arrangers and specially designed for its macOS platform. FL is used as a loop sequencer, and Logic can be used as such, but also has a lot of other features like regular multitracking, a host of great MIDI features, and Score printing. Logic is used in so many ways.and does not necessarily come with 'built-in' loops like FL. You have to get your own loops to use with Logic.

The way FL Studio is set up is ideal for beginners to wrap their heads around. DAWs tend to be complex, like Logic Pro X. Studio also beats out Logic because it is available for Windows and Mac.

FL comes with included VSTs and synthesisers, like Sytrus. There are plenty of useful instruments and effects, but FL is extendable with other instruments.

When you take a look at the interface, it is well structured and modern looking. Ableton, one of their competitors, does stand out with better UI. While it is not a virus, FL tends to crash at important moments, like making a new VST.

Is there a better alternative?

Of all the other DAWs available, Ableton is the only good alternative to FL. It stands apart with better UI and easier navigation as a result. However, FL gives you better value at its price.

It is worth buying FL Studio if you are making music, whether you are a beginner or advanced. The purchasing options are good and tailor made for everyone, and the design is sleek. The only drawback of this DAW is the tendency to crash.
